Steve Gilkerson served in the US Marine Corps for 3 ½ years. He attained the rank of Captain and served 19 months in Vietnam. He then served 30 ½ years as an FBI Special Agent, specializing in fugitive and criminal investigations. He also served for 25 years as both a member and team leader on FBI SWAT and was an FBI certified instructor in defensive tactics, street survival tactics and SWAT operations for 27 years.
After retiring from the FBI, Steve served for 5 years as a Police Officer for the city of Champlin, Minnesota where he coordinated a specialized unit focused on finding runaway youths as well as working with these youths and their families. Steve has personally handled over 2,000 runaway cases. Steve also spent 2 years working as a court security officer for the US Marshal’s Service.
